Windows Remote Desktop

Purpose

Start a Windows Remote Desktop connection from MyShell Terminal.

Entry

Create or edit a server, choose Windows, and enter the target address, remote-desktop port, account, and credentials.

Steps

1. Confirm that Remote Desktop is enabled on the target and use the account required by that environment; do not treat administrator as the default recommendation.
2. Choose a direct, proxy, or jump-host route. Proxy and jump-host routes use TCP.
3. Adjust the resolution if needed. Drive mapping is not supported.
4. Double-click the server entry to start the Windows Remote Desktop client. Client startup does not mean login succeeded; confirm authentication and desktop availability in the client.

Know Before You Use It

Windows targets only. Reachability, account permissions, Remote Desktop policy, and firewalls affect the connection. UDP transport cannot be used with a proxy or jump-host route.

Failure Handling and Safety

Check the target address, port, account, Remote Desktop service, firewall, and TCP route. Fix the proxy or jump route before retrying. Store credentials only on trusted devices and remove accounts and addresses before sharing a configuration.
